A few months ago, I started using a new (to me) and pretty simple strategy for falling asleep. It has worked consistently, so I thought I'd share it with you. I count backwards from 100. Usually, I am asleep before I reach the number one. However, sometimes I am pretty keyed up and it takes me a few rounds of counting backwards before I am asleep. Here’s an expanded explanation about how and why it works.
I also find that no single method for falling asleep works for me all the time. Here’s two other tips for falling asleep that I have shared in the past: counting my breath, or placing my legs up the wall for a few minutes before bed.
And because we can all help each out with ideas, let me know if you have your own favorite tip for falling asleep and I'll share it (anonymously) with others on this list. Drop me a line here.
Looking forward to seeing you at yoga class week and wishing you strength and balance.
